Welcome back to school GCS Family,
As you prepare for the first day of classes, take a moment and reflect on what an incredible blessing it is to be part of a school community that partners with you to develop children who are spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically and socially mature for the glory of God. As you drop off your children for school tomorrow morning at 8:45 AM, take a moment to reflect on the amazing display of God’s hand at work in our school community.
A Note About Your Teacher:
This is my first year as part of the GCS Family! My wife and I recently accepted the opportunity to come to GCS and move away from our home city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I’m looking forward to meeting all the students, parents, and GCS families. It is my prayer that this year would be one that challenges all of us to grow both academically and spiritually. God has good things in store! While I am the Grade 6 Lead Teacher, throughout the school year your children will have the opportunity to learn from multiple teachers.
Theme Verse:
Our theme verse for the year is once again in the book of Colossians. We’re going to be focusing on how we can seek God and set our minds on Him. I’d encourage you to read over this verse as a family and think about what God would have us do. Colossians 3:1-2, “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth” (ESV).
