Welcome to Fall ~
It is hard to believe that we are almost finished with the first few weeks of school. I am sure your students are hard at work. We pray that they are making lots of friends and enjoying being part of the GCS family. We have been blessed with a great start to the year and I have loved getting to know your children.
All students and parents should be signed up to the Seesaw App now. If you have not, please email me as soon as you can.
As time moves on it is important to remind you of a few upcoming dates to remember.
This Friday September, 29 is a Professional Development Day (PD Day) this means that there are no classes for your students while the teachers go to school for training. Make sure your student takes their homework home for the long weekend. They will still have homework.
Robotics Club is starting on Oct. 3. Did your student sign up??
All families in Canada will celebrate Thanksgiving on Oct. 8. There is no school on that Monday.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday – Moms & Dads class will begin on Saturday Oct. 13, 2018 from 11:00 – 12:00 is a Moms & Dads Class in Room 104. This is a class to help all parents with their English skills, feel comfortable in PEI, and learn how to help their ESL students. Child care IS provided. This is a class for parents only.
Newcomers / New Families International Potluck Supper is Oct. 17. 5:30 – 7:30 pm. All GCC / GBC families are invited to our fall potluck supper. Families that attend should bring a dish to share that will feed 6 – 8 people. If your last name begins with A – L please bring a dessert or salad to share. If your last name begins with M – Z please bring a main dish to share. GCS will supply the drinks and fun! There will ice-breaker games and prizes for getting to know the most new friends. Save the date!
