Week of October 31st in Grade 5

Dear GCS Grade 5 Families,

We had another great week at GCS, which included a Fall Party!  For their Fall Party activity, Grade 5 completed a photo and video scavenger hunt with their reading buddies! Then we ended the day by watching a movie and eating delicious treats!

Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Campaign)

Our school is participating in Operation Christmas Child once again this year. Every GCS student is encouraged to fill a box with items that can be shared with a child in need in another country. Items that may be placed in the box include: toys, school supplies, non-liquid hygiene items, washcloths, socks, toothbrushes. Please do not include any liquids, food items of any kind, war-related items, or breakable items.

Do not forget to order your school pictures by October 31^st to avoid shipping & handling fees.

GCS Teacher Convention (no school) – Friday, November 4th

Remembrance Day (no school) – Friday, November 11th

Math Test #2 – Tuesday, November 1^st

Spelling Test #7 – Thursday, November 3^rd

Assignments:

Letter from the Trenches – Due Tuesday, November 8^th

Letter to Lt. Col. Borden & Enlistment Poster – Due Thursday, November 10^th (only for the students required to re-submit the assignment).
