Dear Parents,
I hope you and your families have had a good weekend. This week we will be learning about rhyming words, counting by tens, phases of the moon, greater than and less number concepts, plural phrases, and singing “Jesus Loves Me” in French.
Homework: Students will need to be preparing for Friday’s spelling test and will be sent home with a sight words page (some more colour words) and a penmanship page. Homework is due on Fridays. Students are also encouraged to continue working on their Bible Memory Verse (Isaiah 40:28) and reading. Don’t forget to fill in a star on your Reading Tracker each time you spend at least 5 minutes reading.
Tests: This week students will have a math test on Tuesday and a phonics test on Wednesday. We will have a spelling test on Friday. Please note that this week’s words are already significantly more challenging than last week’s words. Most students will need to practice these words nightly to ensure success on the test. New lists are sent home on Fridays to give students are whole week to prepare.
