Hello Parents,

This year is going by so fast.  It’s hard to believe that we are already nearing the end of March.   As we look toward this weekend, let us be grateful for the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross.

This Week in Grade Two

Language:  Students will finish up the fiction narrative unit.   Students will also begin a novel study of “The Sword in the Tree.”

Math: Students will continue to learn about multiplication and it’s meaning.  In grade two students will be expected to learn 1 – 5 times tables as well as the 10 times table.

Social Studies:  Students will complete the final activity for the Arctic Region and we will begin the Atlantic Region.

Mathletics

We have four more days to go in our Mathletics March Madness Competition! The last time the scores were checked, grade four was in the lead. We will have to wait until Wednesday to find out which grade will win the class pizza party and which student from grade two scored the highest overall. There is still time to earn more points!

Junior Achievement Business – Senorita’s Fashions

Students from grade 12 have been developing their own businesses as part of the Junior Achievement Program. This year, we have students who created and are selling earrings and pins. An order form for Senorita’s Fashions went home last Friday. If your child is interested in purchasing anything from these students, they are extending the order date until Thursday, April 1.

Food Drive

For their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Residential Project, students in high school are hosting a food donation drive for the school. They are challenging each class to bring in as much food as possible. There will be a grand prize for the class that donates the most! The food drive will run until April 1.
