Hello Families of GCS Kindergarten,
As I sit in my classroom today looking out the window at the melting snow, I am reminded of the uncertainty that comes with Spring weather on PEI. Please check the weather each day before sending your children to school. Rain boots, winter boots, “wellies” are a must this time of year on our playground (extra socks and mitts are helpful too with your child’s name on them where possible)
I look forward to spring and investigating the changes that come to our school yard and community.
Last week, the students learned about the frog. This week we will compare the frog with the toad.. I “toad” you it would be fun!
We have been learning about Canadian coins, time to half past the hour and the two vowel rule.
We will be having several birthday party celebrations this month.
As you bring in treats to share with the class for your child’s birthday:
*feel free to send in a fruit try instead of cupcakes if you wish
*a box of cookies
*plates/napkins
*anything easy for you that is purchased from a store/bakery instead of home made (as per Early Childhood regulations state)
Things to watch for:
Wednesday, April 13 – Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences (5pm-7pm)
Friday, April 15 – Good Friday (no school)
Monday, April 18 – Easter Monday (no school)
As always, I am thankful for this community of families who care for and about each other. Thank you for all you are doing to help keep our community safe. We pray for those who have had illness, families experiencing war, pain, as well as those exited about new birth, hope and love.
Be safe.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Laura Perry
