It’s hard to believe that May is already approaching. Thank you for your continued support of your child’s education through online learning. As we continue this process, your feedback is appreciated as students and teachers alike are learning this new way of learning. I think of you often and am praying for your families through this challenging time. Though there is much uncertainty in our world, I would challenge you to search for joy each day and cling to that joy.

Please see below for an outline for this week. Remember that the main focus needs to be on Language Arts and Math. If your family situation doesn’t always allow for the other subjects to be complete – try to ensure you child is at least completing those two subjects.

Language Arts:

Phonics Vocabulary – review this week’s vocabulary list: melted, painted, jumped, walked, prayed, filled, birthday, finishes, *money, and *buy. Check activities to practice using some of your vocabulary words in the correct sentence.

Reading – Record yourself reading the story sent to you in seesaw

Writing – After you finish reading, write the answers to the questions about the story on paper (any paper is fine, printing the document is not required) and take a picture of your work. Remember to use full sentences, your neatest penmanship, and proper capitalization and punctuation. These activities are used for assessment. Show me your best work!

Handbook for Reading – Review pg.111, read over pg. 113 twice. See if you can hear the difference between that “-ed” sound and the one on pg. 113. Hint: in one you sound out “ed,” in the other you just sound out the “d.” For example, (read these phonetically) we don’t say “play -ed,” it sounds more like “play-d.”
