Hello Parents,
We have made it to the final quarter of the year. Students have been working hard all year long. I know we will all work together to make the final quarter a successful one for each student.
This Week in Grade Two
Language: Students will take the CAT during our language blocks on Tuesday – Thursday this week.
Math: Students will continue to learn about multiplication (one and zero as a factor) and subtraction with borrowing from the tens and hundreds place.
Social Studies: Students will complete their study of the Atlantic Region.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent teacher interviews will take place the Thursday, April 15th from 5:00 – 7:00. If you have concerns but are unable to meet during this time, please email me (jbarton@gcspei.ca) and we can set up another time to meet in-person or talk over the phone.
Canadian Achievement Test (CAT)
This week we will be completed the Canadian Achievement tests (CAT). The CAT is a testing system that assesses the essential learning outcomes of the following basic skill areas: reading, language, spelling, and mathematics. The CAT tests also evaluate how well students perform in comparison to other students across Canada as a whole. We completed these tests near the beginning of the school year to have more information about any gaps in our students learning as a result as doing part of our academic year online last spring. Doing these tests now close to the end of the year will help us track how we have done in bridging those gaps.
Assessments this week:
Thursday – Spelling list # 21
Important Dates
- Thursday, April 15 – Elementary Parent-Teacher Interviews (5:00-7:00 pm)
- Friday, April 16 – High School Parent-Teacher Interviews (No School)
Enjoy your week!
