My heartfelt thanks to all those who took the time to come out and meet with me to discuss your child’s progress first quarter. Should you have any questions throughout this next quarter please do not hesitate to email me.
The next few weeks are very busy ones, indeed! Please take note of the following announcements:
Annual Pancake Breakfast
The 15th Annual Pancake Breakfast is just around the corner! On Saturday, Nov. 23rd from 8am – 11am, you are all invited to come take part in this GCS community event. The proceeds generated from this community-building fundraiser will go toward the 2020 Jamaica Mission Trip.
Tickets are now available for purchase through Green Apple Pay, our new online payment platform. Once you log into your account, using this link https://gcs.greenapplepay.com, you will see the option to purchase tickets. All tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, Nov. 20th and tickets will be sent home with your child(ren) on Friday, Nov. 22 before the event. Tickets can be purchased for $5 per person, and this includes traditional or gluten-free pancakes, sausages, tea, coffee, and juice. Children 5 and under eat for free.
Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event.
Cooler Temperatures
As we experience more winter-like temperatures and weather conditions, please remind your children to come prepared for outdoors. Students are encouraged to carry a warm hat and mittens in their backpacks every day and to come dressed in a warm jacket. Snow pants and winter boots will also help your children stay warm and dry as we enjoy the winter weather and fun in the snow.
For students who arrive prior to 8:45 AM, please note that students will not be permitted to go inside the school to gather their winter gear. Please arrive dressed for the winter conditions.
Operation Christmas Child
The GCS students are hearing stories about how God is using the simple gift of a shoe box to impact other kids around the world. We are looking forward to blessing thousands of children around the world with shoe boxes and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Your child has received a shoe box to fill with gifts for a less fortunate child. Need ideas for your kids to pack? Here is the link of the top 100 things to put in a shoebox, and a list of items that are permitted. All items must be new. Please make sure that we add $10 to each box to help with the cost of shipping, if you can.
