Hello GCS Grade 6 Family!
This is our final week of online classes! I wanted to take a moment to thank all the parents and students for working so hard to ensure that education continued at home. You are all amazing! This has been a strange year, but God’s goodness is evident and I am thankful to have partnered with such great families!
Please continue to check your email in the coming days and weeks. More information will be sent out from GCS regarding end-of-year logistics.
Important: End of Year Zoom Class
On Friday, June 5th at 11 am, the Grade 6 class will meet digitally via Zoom video conference to celebrate the end of the school year. It will be a chance for the Grade 6 class to reconnect with each other, laugh, and to say goodbye.
Parents, could you please help your child set up for this event?
- You will need to download the Zoom client (free version) https://www.zoom.us/.
- Test to ensure that your microphone and camera are working within Zoom.
- Have your Grade 6 student ready with their device at 11 am on Friday, June 5th.
On the morning of Friday, June 5th, I will post a link in Seesaw that connects you with our Zoom meeting. Students will click on this link at 11 am and I will admit them into the Zoom conference room. Additionally, I will email the link to the parent’s email addresses.

Monday:
Math – Lesson 139 – Review of Equations
LA – Grammar: Interjections
Science- Celebrate your school year with a little homemade ice cream activity.
French- See Seesaw Activity. Complete and post pages 70-71.
Physical Education: Remember to participate in at least 20 minutes of physical activity every day. You’ll be logging this at the end of the week. If you haven’t submitted last week’s activity log, go back and do that today.
Tuesday:
Math – Lesson 140 General Review
LA – Grammar: Parts of Speech Review Day
Social Studies- Your PEI Story
Wednesday:
Math – Lesson 141: Review of Algebra and Geometry
LA – Grammar: Parts of Speech and Diagramming Test
Bible – Students will watch a short video called, God’s Story: Jesus’ Rescue. Please find this assignment in the activity tab, along with instructions of how to respond.
French – See Seesaw Activity. Complete and post pages 72-73
Thursday:
Math – Lesson 147: 2 Step Equations
LA – End of the School Year Writing Assignment
Music –Stay tuned for Music Minute with Mrs. Wilting
Social Studies – New Islanders
Friday:
Math – Test/Quiz
LA – Cheers to Grade 6
Art – Look for activity from Mrs. Arthurs on Seesaw
Science – Ensure your Science work is uploaded to Seesaw
Physical Education: Activity logs are due today. Check your Seesaw Activities.
