Almost October
Happy Sunday! Wow, can you believe it is almost October? Our first month of school has flown by. I look forward to what the rest of our fall has in store. Just a quick reminder that hot lunch forms are due on Tuesday, with hot lunch being served on Wednesday. Check in below for all that is in store for our kindergarten class this week. Please remember that if any questions arise from our blog that you may always contact me at lperry@gcspei.ca
Milk Program
Orders for milk are also collected on Tuesday mornings. If your child is purchasing milk, orders must be placed a week in advance, with white milk costing $.50 and chocolate milk costing $.75. You may wish to pay for your child’s milk on a weekly basis or pay in advance, a month or two at a time
Science & Technology Week:
Grace Christian School has dedicated an entire week to celebrate love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Throughout the week of October 15th-19th, students in K-12 will participate in several activities to enrich their learning in these four disciplines. Please watch for a full schedule in the coming weeks.
Thanksgiving, No Classes:
Just a reminder that Monday, Oct. 8th is a Canadian holiday. We will not have classes. Thanksgiving weekend is a time when family and friends gather for usually a Turkey feast which includes potatoes, gravy, stuffing, carrots, peas, squash, apple or pumpkin pie for dessert. Around the dinner table, we talk about the many things we are thankful for. In our family, we have often gone for a long walk along the trails somewhere on the Island.
I hope whatever your plans include for this weekend, you will enjoy them with those you love.
Classes will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 9th at 9:00 AM.
Assignments & Assessments:
Monday: Gym, Art
We will have a visit from grade 10 students to help us use the SeeSaw app on our classroom Chrome books.
Tuesday: Investigate Community Helpers
Wednesday: Chapel, Music
Thursday: Science
Friday: Music, Library (Please return your library books today If you have not done so already)
Classroom Needs
We are in need of Lysol Wipes for cleaning the children’s desks. (not for the children’s use).
If you are able to bring in a container we would appreciate it.
See you Tomorrow
Sincerely,
Mrs. Laura Perry
