First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms and Grandmothers! 

This week will be another short week with a 4-day long weekend. No online classes this Friday or the following Monday.

Monday
Math: Pages 229-230
Language Arts: What is foreshadowing? Students will learn what foreshadowing is in literature and apply their understanding by guessing what will happen next in a story based on what has been read. Check Seesaw Activity.
Gym: Remember to start recording your daily physical activity for this week. If you haven’t submitted last week’s activity log, go back and do that today.
Science: Students will investigate the surface tension of water and conduct an experiment to determine which solution creates the best bubbles!
French: See the Activities section on Seesaw.  Those students working in MM2: p. 56; those students working in MM1: p.18

Tuesday
Math: Pages 231-232
Language Arts: Using foreshadowing in writing. Now that we know what foreshadowing is and have seen some examples, let’s try to incorporate it in our own writing. Check Google Classroom.
Social Studies: Railroads and Canals. Students will watch a video about the development of canals and railroads to drastically change the speed and efficiency of transportation. Check Seesaw for how to respond to the video. 

Wednesday
Math: Pages 233-234
Language Arts: How to close a story. Students will learn about a few common ways to close a story well and apply this to their own stories. Check Google Classroom.
Bible:  Students will watch a short video called, God’s Story: Peter.  Please find this assignment in the activity tab, along with instructions of how to respond.  

Thursday
Math: Quiz 13 on Google Classroom
Language Arts: List 22 Vocabulary Quiz on Google Classroom
Music: Stay tuned for Music Minute with Mrs. Wilting
Social Studies: Students will learn about the invention of the telegraph during the industrial revolution and its impact on communication. They’ll also be introduced to Morse Code and use it to translate secret messages.

Friday
No Online Classes
