Book Report

Students in grade 3-4 will be writing their first book report this week. This will be a heavily guided exercise as this book report is the first one for many of the students. However, the creative portion of the book report will be completed at home. Students will have a choice for what to do for the creative portion this time around and I am very excited to see what they come up with! I will be sending home a project outline tomorrow with all the details and a list of possible activities for them to choose from.

Winn-Dixie Party

Over the past few months I’ve been acknowledging the students’ good character traits and positive attitudes by rewarding the class with little pompoms to fill up what I call my “I Like It!” Jar. The class has reached their goal of filling the jar! For a prize, we are going to be having a Winn-Dixie themed party this Tuesday, complete with egg salad sandwiches, pickles, Dump Punch, and the movie Because of Winn-Dixie. Parents, if any of you have some snacks that you could give us to help with the party, please let me know!

Christmas Service Project

At Grace Christian School it is our hope that students will recognize how God uses His children to bless others, and that it truly is better to give than to receive.  What a better time than the holiday season to share the love of Jesus with others in our community? So, that is exactly what we plan to do!  As this year’s Christmas Service Project, students in grade 3-4 will be travelling back to The Mount on Thursday, December 21st, to sing songs from our Christmas musical and to read stories to the seniors, who really enjoyed our visit last time. More details and a permission form will be sent home in the coming weeks.
