As the Christmas holiday approaches, school leadership is encouraged by the generosity of our school community and the loving service of our students. We are grateful for opportunities to partner with parents and community organizations that believe in the mission of GCS and who strive to help us fulfill our mission to develop students who are spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically, and socially mature to the glory of God.
Throughout the past months, GCS students have demonstrated how Christ can use anyone to make a difference, regardless of their age. Collaboratively, elementary students planted seeds of kindness throughout the community, delivering gifts to the pediatric unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and sponsoring a coffee break for staff at the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre. Students also delivered treats to Maritime Electric post Hurricane Fiona and visited residents at Geneva Villa. GCS elementary students also prepared and served a meal at the local soup kitchen. The spirit of giving back continued as the student body collected over 100 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, delivered food to the community fridge and local food bank, and collaboratively gifted over $2000 worth of Christmas gifts to the residents of Prince Edward Home for a third consecutive year.
The generosity of GCS supporters is yet another reason to celebrate our school community. Over the past four months, GCS has been gifted over $100,000 towards our Knight’s Legacy Fund. Additional gifts that will greatly benefit our science and innovation programs, as well as our athletic programs, have also been shared with our student body. On top of this, over $1200 worth of gifts have been purchased from our Amazon Wishlist.
We are truly grateful and blessed by the generosity of our supporters and students. Most of all, we are thankful for the greatest gift of all- Jesus!
Wishing you all a Christ-centered holiday season.
